Talkitaliano is an online Italian language school. It began as a way for a group of tutors, who have a passion for teaching Italian, to share their love for Italian culture and teach the Italian language to others. Utilizing the online medium of Skype has allowed them to share their experience and knowledge with a broader group of students across the world. What is the price structure and how does it work?
Talkitaliano has a flexible and competitive payment structure. The cost of a course depends on the number of lessons and the type of program you choose. There is a discounted rate for individuals who sign up and pay for ten lessons in advance.
How do Skype lessons differ from in-person lessons?
The structure of the lessons and the materials used will be the same for both sets of lessons. The benefit of doing lessons via Skype is the fact that you can complete them anywhere in the world, without leaving the comfort of your home or office. You will be able to interact easily with your tutor using video call, as well as the flexibility to instant message and share files.
Can I benefit from Skype lessons even if I am a total beginner?
Yes, of course! No matter your Italian language level, everyone will be able to benefit from Italian language lessons delivered via Skype. All tutors at Talkitaliano speak a second language, which will be beneficial especially to total beginners in the first phases of learning Italian. Distance learning via Skype will have no effect on the quality of Italian lessons that you will receive.
What is Talkitaliano’s teaching method?
All tutors at Talkitaliano train in the communicative method. Most prestigious language teacher universities teach this method, including Università degli Stranieri di Siena, Università degli Stranieri di Perugia, Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia.
The lessons provided at Talkitaliano focuses on four communication skills – listening, speaking, reading and writing. As your Italian language skills improve so will the complexity of the four skills. Lessons will focus on a communicative task, a grammar issue, and vocabulary building.
The majority of the lesson will take place in Italian; except for beginners who will start slower with the help of a common language.
What learning materials does Talkitaliano use during their lessons?
Prior to the start of each lesson, your tutor will send you the learning materials that apply to your upcoming lesson. These materials can consist of pdf extracts from modern textbooks, audio files, and videos.
Do you offer a free trial lesson?
Yes. The free trial lesson lasts for 30 minutes. During the lesson, you will be introduced to your tutor and they will discuss your Italian language goals. During your free trial lesson, your tutor will also assess your level of Italian so that they can develop a learning plan specific to your needs.
How do I book a free trial lesson?

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept payment through Paypal and Skrill.

Do I pay before or after my lesson?
Payment for your lesson needs to be made prior to the start of the lesson and in full. You can benefit from a discount by booking and paying for ten lessons in advance.
Are tutors flexible when it comes to rescheduling lessons?
Rescheduling of lessons is possible, but you need to provide your tutor 24-hours’ notice regarding the change and set up a new time and date that suits both you and your tutor.
What happens if I have to cancel my lesson?
If you cancel your lesson more than 24 hours prior to the start of your lesson you will not be charged. If you cancel your lesson 12 – 24 hours prior to the start, you will be charged 50% of the cost. If you cancel less than 12 hours prior to the lesson or fail to attend, you will be charged the full cost of the lesson.
